“You could say DJ Skrill was the very first Naptown DONT SLEEP DJ. He actually DJ’d our very first Santa Sit-In. This was a precursor to the Black Business Bazaar that now takes place every December. We stayed in touch, had numerous conversations about not only our love of people, but our love of the community and our love of our children. He was my guy. Everytime we dapped up it was like I knew him forever, even though we were introduced on a humble.
The DJ Skrill Memorial Heritage Cup Tournament is an extension of an event we had already done and are just circling back to; all with the blessing of his wife. It’s not for clout, but to extend his legacy in the medium in which he was exceptionally talented. I’m truly looking forward to August 3rd and seeing all the amazing DJs putting their skills on display. And if anyone thinks they should be in the ring with the elite?
